Maya has a good temperament. She is an affectionate, and well behaved dog for the majority of the time, however the 'hound' gene in her is quite strong and she can be excitable & exuberant and very vocal on occasion! This stands her in good stead for her sentry duties, she is our eyes & ears about the property.

Health wise, she is in great shape, her hips and elbows have been examined by veterinarians and there are no problems.
Her PennHIP result which was 0.23 & 0.27 is the best ever score the Boerboel has achieved, world-wide.

She is a extremely agile, athletic dog, with relatively high prey drive, (so she likes to chase balls) and has an abundance of energy I've don't think we've ever seen her worn out!

At the Inaugural SABT appraisal in the UK 2003, at the age of sixteen months Maya was appraised and in 2004 she was re-appraised at a more mature age of 2 years 7 months, where she scored 83.4% see below for more details.
